  • Are you owed 'transformational' funding?

I work in a lucky CCG and not one penny of this has come to General Practice. The CCG when challenged said we can have the £3 next financial year subject to completing an application . Whats the point of an foi request if they don't tell the truth?

  • Physio 'first contact' service set to be rolled out next year in GP practices

We directly employ an MSK practitioner in our practice. She pays for herself through the minor surgery DES and a very significant reduction referrals to orthopaedics. Patients book direct to see her or we ask them to. We always put all our orthopaedics referrals past her (exp locums). Yes, therefore individual GPs take a pay cut slightly but this service should be provided nationally as its best for patients (and our MRIs are more appropriate)

  • A ban on liothryonine will be devastating – I should know

We went through this process under instruction of the CCG. Our practice approached each individual patient reducing and stopping the T3. Where there were problems with their results or symptoms we then referred to endocrinology. I really despise this postcode medicine and think it puts unnecessary pressure on GPs especially when are financially penalised for not undertaking this sort of work and in other areas it doesn't seem to matter?
