I can't see how they would be allowed to register patients without proper ID check, and health check first.
I agree with Dr Azeem Majeed, but can only add that the time and workload pressure general practice is under will make matters worse, and Jeremy Hunt will blame us. I see a lot of dodgy prescribing coming out of secondary care. Still keen to minimize errors on my behalf.
Doctors have taken the biggest pay cut of all public service workers. Considering the complexity of our work, and responsibilities, and decisions that can cost lives, we are not valued.
I blame the BMA and RCGP for not doing anything!
Well, the evidence he has re weekend opening, and weekend hospital mortality is probably as good as the 'Dodgy Dossier' that led to the invasion of the Irak !
Agree with comments re costs and arrogance of inspectors.
Hope the GPC will win, and the practice can sue CQC for damages.
Why do we have to Subscribe to CQC ? The idea of striking by refusing to pay is great!

Brilliant article ---Stephanie, please add your letter and comments to your appraisal!
The appraisal is supposed to protect patients, it is not in our interest. Initially we were paid for being appraised. Soon we will have to pay for it.
I believe we should be given protected time for the appraisal.
It is adding a lot of stress -- for me as appraise, and for my appraises.
We should take industrial action and refuse to do our appraisals. See if they can revoke the licence to work for all GP's or all Doctors!
I am not surprised! MI's only happen after Menopause!
Oestrogen is good for the endothelium.
We are way too coy about HRT!
