Julia speaks alot more sense than the RCGP
£50,000 in the pocket for doing bugger all.Nice one!
Is this an admission more statins and tighter BP targets are not working?????
another bullshitter..and like all bullshitters you'll go a long way.
Bottom line:training your own is expensive.Importing 2nd-3rd world labour is cheap. Is this really ethical?
The NHS is free at the point of delivery which means they turn up for any old rubbish.Make them pay and see how quickly they become responsible.
@Meg above. You're absolutely right about continuity of care but who cares about that! This has always been about cost cutting and our Judas's goats have known that all along.
Another virtue signalling puff piece. Most people who are labelled racist are not racist. They are merely displaying loyalty to their "tribe",their "herd",which is hard wired into our mammalian genes. It is a Darwinian alerting mechanism that serves to protect a group from a potential external threat.Racism on the other hand is a psychopathological condition which manifests in a desire to kill someone of a different race.
They should instead show a repeat of Cardiac Arrest
Count your blessings. They shoot doctors in the US.
I completely agree. Also we need to train more interventional radiologists to perform mechanical thromobectomies which are far more effective in restoring blood flow than thrombolysis.
What exactly does this test measure?
If you refuse and the proverbial hits the fan whose side do you think the courts will take? The rich fat GP or the poor patient?
Let's not overcomplicate it.This is how the average Brit's mind works:GPs are not specialists because they're failed hospital doctors but they're bloody overpaid for what they know. They failed to spot my diagnosis and I'm going to sue their pants off!
Baby checks are not only a complete waste of time but potentially dangerous because they create a false sense of security. They've very poor sensitivity in picking up major disorders such as congenital heart disease etc and by falsely reassuring parents you're digging your own grave for the future.
Having worked in Nottingham i'm all too familiar with the concerted political ploy to shut down all single handed practices. In fact most of them have already closed and Dr Stevens'surgery is perhaps one of only 2 or 3 left. This nitpicking is essentially deliberate CQC harrassment to force the GP to become completely fed up and quit.Large federated practices have been let off with alot worse.BTW Dr Stevens is a great doctor, compassionate to his patients and a wonderful human being all qualities that are deeply lacking in our local GP representatives who are all busy feathering their own nests.
It's the same situation for the adult services
We are far less aggressive in investigating and treating the underlying causes of heart failure in the UK.Most of these patients are over the age of 70 and are essentially treated with palliative intent.Officially of course we are not ageist. As they say in the NHS:a good patient is a dead patient.
