Because of inflation it will be a pay cut. With luck it will not be too much of a pay cut.
There are more acutely ill patients therefore we need more beds .It's the demographic . How it is paid for is a political decision.
The funding of course will be guaranteed in perpetuity -just like MPIG .
Being of Turco-Russian descent I have come across some interesting sayings . If they think the NHS will survive this then " they are flying with their ears ".
Tell them and they won't come.
When we leave the EU the value of our currency will fall. Inflation will increase to 4.4 -4.7 % by the end of this summer . Look on the bright side it's only a 1.1% pay cut
However it is dressed up it is another pay cut because of inflation . Uplift 1% RPI 2.5% = -1.5% . Simple math . Go figure.
RPI Dec 2016 = 2.5%
Could they please publish the true inflation rate alongside this contract. 1% increase with 2.5% inflation (fall of pound brexit etc ) will not help.
Great wads of cash ! It works for bankers -the dullest most tedious "profession" in the universe .
OOH -tax free -job done .
Pay for bronze , get bronze, mate.
Eventually you will get the service you fund when all the good will has dried up.
Surprisingly there are still people out there trying to make things work on a shoestring.
Thet will soon be gone.
It needs investment in general practice . Up to 12 % of the NHS budget say.
Or to sum up - more work ,less money.
To save the NHS - if you think it is worth saving is to stand for election and carry the public with you .
Dear Curious it has been a long term goal of the right to dismantle social institutions such as the NHS ,public education and the like . The " overton window " of what is politically possible has until recently not shifted far enough to make it possible but now people are thinking that it would acceptable to do away with these public services. Even as we were much poorer as a country we did not charge university fees as we do now. The beauty of a GP mass resignation for the right is that it gives a politically cost free opportunity to do it. The solution is for representatives of public institutions to become politically active. If people vote against maintaining their social services then they can have what they choose .
"Forward the Light Brigade . Charge for the guns ! "
Charge of the light Brigade .
£240m for the government to dole out for item of service payments . The population of NI is 1.811 million . Enough for 3 consultations each. How can anyone be that politically naive ? Fechinijits
In a demonstration of collective will boycott all OOH work for 1 month. It will show politicians that we do work at weekends and that without this input all is chaos. It is not simply a question of charging patients for our services ( inexpensive as they are ) but will mean high medication charges and admission rates for hospitals . Theresa Mays remarks are meant to goad us into an ill thought out response to a carefully created strategy. Starving public services of resources is a classic way of undermining them ,then selling them off. I am sure we can shrug off the blame but can the patients so easily shrug the drug costs ?
