Why is IBS diagnosed in women without first considering, and if necessary excluding endometriosis as a possible cause?
Ban the GMC from providing private health insurance to their employees. I strongly object to my fees funding this. Plus it creates a conflict of interest. If GMC employees don't have to use the NHS, then they presumably don't give a stuff if it doesn't function at their hands
Given the choice, those GPs don't want to live in those areas or send their kids to school in those areas either. I bet there are shortages of accoutants, lawyers, vets etc too. Basically the government needs to invest in these areas so they are decent and prosperous for everyone, then professionals will move in too and work there.
If a patient can't afford basic OTC medications, then there is a real issue with the benefits system and health inequality. This is not the NHS's problem to sort. The campaign needs to be on wealth inequality, companies not paying a living wage, zero hours contracts etc etc. The NHS should definitely stop cheap OTC medications of uncertain benefit and concentrate on the important things which need a doctor or health professional to sort.
