I see no value in return for the money paid to you Hancock!
Police thieves, because doctors in this country don't have the balls to do that.
Which is precisely why many leave the country. Not only in search of better working conditions but also to work alongside those with big gigantic balls.
Just read the BBC news comments on this article:
The degree to which we are under the control of the general public is frightening and I quite frankly want out of this countries health care system.
Yes a plumber has a lot more freedom but they work in the private sector; and last I checked, access to free health care was not a Human Right.
The country now needs to start realising that doctors have worked far too hard to get to where they are now and too exhausted to go through the stress of organising industrial action that it is far easier to just walk away.
If the general public don't like it tell them emigrate to a country which can give them what they want.
If they refuse to leave tell them to quit whining.
Why on Earth is a privately run organisation regulating a public organisation?!
The general public should fund the GMC not us!
Standard of care is best measured by how a doctor would treat their own family member:
Would I film a consultation I was having with my own mother? I would now just to avoid jail even though this would destroy patient-doctor relations.
Thanks GMC you've fulled the ambitions of the current generation of junior doctors to work not in the interests of the patients but in the interest of avoiding jail.
I have it in good knowledge that a CT3 in psychiatry can make £64K. However, they were on almost back-to-back on-call shifts (either that or he was supplementing his salary by picking up extra locum shifts)
I'd rather have electronic prescribing across the country.
May I please take this moment to remind you all of the January - April 1975 strike action:
If you did it then you can do it now
It's not really the fault of secondary care.
CAMHS is suffering the same problem GPs are...recruitment.
No one simply wants to work in CAMHS and I don't blame them.
"The title of Doctor has become a life sentence to anyone practicing in the UK"
This, a hundred times times!
"I thought that the ambulance service was now prioritising GP patients with the same urgency"
Dear Dr Maloney,
The difference between the reality of how the NHS is run and what the general publics' idea of how it is run is so large it is quite astonishing.
Her Majesty's Government is fully aware of how shockingly bad the NHS is run but refuses to let the general public know exactly how it is run. It would much rather prefer the GMC protect the public from this harsh reality by putting doctors in jail.
Working in Kent my phone calls with 999 are always like this:
First question: "Is the patient breathing?"
Second question: "Is the patient conscious?"
Third question: "Can I confirm a doctor is present with the patient"
Medical School: Problem based learning = Pay us and teach yourself
Foundation Training: Dear F1 please provide cover to every single ward in this hospital on your own. Dear F2 please provide cover to this Medical High Dependency Unit despite you having none of the competencies relevant to safely run it and could you also review referral to medical HDU from other wards please. (at-least that was my life in Kent)
Speciality Training: All the comments on Pulse reflect the views/attitudes of other specialities not just general practice
We've all been groomed to be socialist doctors who work more for less in return so Dr Hossain the 60% statistic is not at all surprising to me.
He can't even manage to make electronic prescribing standard in all general hospitals.
Dear The cavalry isn't coming:
Doctors working for the NHS are not paid to be diagnosticians, they are paid to be risk-managers. This is especially true for GPs and psychiatrists.
Trainee risk manager
Aww look he's playing with his new found toys!!!
"Trainee medical staff are already legally protected against unfair treatment - such as dismissal - by their employer, if they speak up about safety issues in the workplace during training"
