The citizens of Venezuela are asking themselves the same question about their own health care system.
If you make something free people from all walks of life will crap on it and reduce its value. It's an obvious economic consequence.
Stelvio: BMA collude with the government for their mutual self interest. Neither wants to “fix the job” because they both know that the job can’t be “fixed” as there is no money to fix it. Pretending is the name of the game while each stuffs their pockets.
A GP turned government employee will not provide the answers to the UK’s nhs/GP problems. It’s an issue between that of self interest and the pretence of trying to do good with other people’s money. The two don’t really go hand in hand
They haven’t got a clue what they’ve let themselves in for
You’d have to be a very foolish person to pay any money into the nhs pension scheme
The “Carr-Hill formula” as a centrally planned socialist/communist calculator in the redistribution of resources for state funded free for all universal healthcare fails to take into account several crucial factors (many are qualitative and cannot be simply punched into some dimwit calculator - at least while those factors are presently poorly understood) in the calculation for where resources should be redistributed to. No wonder it’s been a total disaster.
Refer to pain clinic.
The government desperately wants more so-called “trainees” (the quality of the training is very questionable in my experience) to do the NHS’s donkey work. Nice timing now that the number of FTE GPs is falling....who are they kidding.. If they get their way it will take a total of no less than SEVEN years post qualifying as a doctor to become a GP. I am not aware of any country in the world where it takes a total of 7 years of continuous assessments and exams to become a GP
“Customer service”? Are GPs now “customers” when they ring for an ambulance?
How many billions of taxpayers money (other peoples money) has the government wasted on brexit “no deal planning” that Parliament says is going to be illegal if pushed through? Hypocrites
@Cedrick - yes the dictionaries were allowed into the GP assessment centres...no fake news there...and as for northern deanery who soaked up a disproportionately large number of IMGs they should have known that they were recruiting doctors who were allowed into their programmes based on exams whereby a foreign doctor who had poor English skills was allowed to go in there with a dictionary? These were doctors who had presumably passed plab and language tests and were licensed clinicians so why were they allowed dictionaries into the exam? Could it be that the language tests were not rigorous enough? Ridiculous if you ask me. Plus I would not trust what the RCGP tells you about why certain people fail or pass their exams.
@cedric it ain’t fake mate. It’s 100% real. Just ask the “northern deanery”..I dare you
This reminds me of the time when the RCGP in its infinite wisdom allowed IMG candidates from third world countries to bring their dictionaries in with them to the GP assessment centre lmfao. This is no joke I remember it like yesterday. if people can’t speak English to begin with then surely they shouldn’t be allowed to bring dictionaries into an English language medical exam? And then to fail them at the CSA two years later for their poor English and “communication” skills is just a masochistic exercise that has backfired spactacularly
The “best” health care system in the world according to uk politicians lmfao
After a few months of unpleasant encounters with the local natives the poor sods will be running back to where they came from. Currency depreciation meaning that their salary in pounds won’t be worth the paper it’s written on won’t help matters either

Yes...and if this happens then UK citizens will be charged for health services in the EU. NHS will somehow have to find some extra capacity to treat all these people who suddenly won’t be able to afford healthcare abroad. Everyone knows the nhs wouldn’t cope with this. It’s all a cheap bluff really who are these people kidding. They bark louder than they can bite
Anything the government orders doctors to do, people will do the exact opposite. If the government ran out of money that’s not doctors fault. Sorry
our "world class health care system" lol
