I’ve been fighting to get my pension sorted for the past 4-5 years. In the end, I had to get the Pensions Ombudsman involved. There is still a considerable chunk of my money missing. But at least I know that if it does not get sorted soon, the ombudsman will take Legal action.
I would strongly advise everyone whose pension is not correct and up to date to get the Ombudsman involved. In my experience, they ignore you, your practice managers, accountants and financial advisors. But finally after one year, they have started to realise they can’t ignore the ombudsman.
My most unusual presentation was "tummy bug, feels terrible, abdo pain and looks grey, has vomited" history on the phone from a carer. On arrival she looked grey and unwell but said she felt better, had low BP and very close questioning revealed "something" in chest. Paramedics were called and ECG showed ischaemia.
I’m a British GP and thinking I need to get out of this toxic atmosphere. Just last night I was speaking with two Swedish friends who tell me that Sweden would welcome me with open arms, even though I don’t speak a word of Swedish. Carr on like this and uk will have an exodus of intellectuals and professionals.
Perhaps we all were castrated without our knowing or consent at graduation? Maybe we need to grow new pairs.
COI. Work as a Locum and planning my escape route as soon as family and life allow.
I still get small moments of joy at work. It is almost never from just doing the medical stuff right. It is almost always from knowing I have connected with someone, heard their distress and responded with human kindness. The acknowledgement of a small squeeze of the hand or a wry smile can be the best payment I get all day.
Or "stick 'em with the pointy end.....
Cr*pita have already "lost" several years of my pension contributions. According to my last TRS (in 2015) my pension would be about the same as the state pension... down some £15,000pa from the fancy coloured booklet sent to me in 2007 to persuade me to join the 2008 scheme (I didn't). Now I'm paying £1000s every month for a scheme that is only going to pay a few £100pcm... and now they want to annualise? I'm seriously considering asking a practice to employ me as a locum for 1h every day to avoid this - play them at their own game.
