HE'S JUST BEEN SACKED - HURRAH HURRAH HURRAH
STP - you couldn't make it up . This is the street name for a hallucinogenic amphetamine developed by Alexander Shulgin. Serenity ,Tranquility Peace. Perhaps this is Simon's secret. If we all pop this everything will seem better.
The phrase INDENTURED SERVITUDE springs to mind . In the 18 th century people paid their passage to the New World by agreeing to work for an employer for several years . Debt slavery . The World Bank gives poor countries loans that they cannot repay and then claims their natural resources . For medics the natural resources are blood ,sweat and tears.
I am going to make sure CQC inspectors are dipped in carbolic before entering the premises . Who knows what they might be carrying .

If they do not vote for strike action then the circling sharks will come back for more .
Dear Ivan , won't this simply lead to supply- induced demand ?
pay them more and more will come
if it wasn' t for the labour party I would not have had the education to train as a doctor . So GP's voting Labour are remaining loyal
Read Owen Jones " The Establishment " - well written and illuminating .
Tories are ideologically opposed to the NHS . Look who the secretary of state for health is - Jeremy Hunt who co-authored a paper entitled " Direct Democracy : An Agenda for a New Model Party ", which called for the NHS to be denationalised and replaced with a national insurance model . Hunt privately called for the NHS tribute in the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics to be removed .
There is plenty of wealth in the country it just needs to be distributed more evenly.
The trouble is that if everyone gave up bullshit then there would be no election campaign and we'd be deprived of that gruesome entertainment of politicians trying to avoid stepping in their own bullshit.
Appearing to do something whilst actually doing nothing .
As a graduate of Aberdeen I found the teaching excellent and General Practice fulfilling . I graduated in 1981 . How times have changed . We need to acknowledge the fall in popularity and seek changes in the contract to make it popular again. It is the patient who will lose out if primary care is lost.
Radio 4 yesterday . Students at University of Warwick were asked to stand up if they intended to become General practitioners . Out of 80 attendees 8 volunteered . Says it all really.
The CQC person who came to interview me had no idea what a personal list system was . It is important that people coming to inspect general practice have some grasp of the basics . We should set an exam before they cross the threshold . If they fail they are not allowed to inspect .
Make the longitude prize 100m and you will get results . I might even learn Russian for that much .
How do we persuade them to stay on ? Pay them more money .
More pressing than recruitment is retention . Increase pension contributions reduce income steal seniority payments and kick us in the press. Now why would anyone want to leave a marvellous opportunity to get shafted further ? If the NHS was a bleeding patient basic principles dictate that haemorrhage should be arrested first .
