  • Little improvement in international graduate scores on CSA, show new figures

    Munna Bhai MBBS's comment 25 Feb 2014 9:34am

    Story continues....
    Racism vs non racism
People are comparing MRCP paces with Csa. Are they suggesting that in their opinion the 3 years GP training is a wasteful exercise? MRCP can be done without any training but CSA is done after 3 years training at par with white graduates. At the end of 3 years training, why do such differences exist and why has the college and the deaneries done nothing about it?
If it were the case of white UK graduates would these bodies have kept quiet?
When CSA was introduced, a few white candidates were affected and the RCGP refunded the whole fee and gave a free attempt in which all those failed candidates managed to pass. Is it not discrimination?

  • RCGP considering reducing examination fees following GPC lobbying

    Munna Bhai MBBS's comment 02 Feb 2014 6:49pm

Any decrease in exam fee would mean BAPIO's victory and RCGP would never accept this.
Substandard exam with exceptionally poor feedback and highest fee out of all royal colleges = CSA

  • BMA to support international doctors’ legal challenge to MRCGP exam

    Munna Bhai MBBS's comment 26 Oct 2013 2:46pm

Clare and the rest of the college's response to CSA fiasco continues to be lackadaisical.
This is so frustrating for some trainees. If you read Clare's response to BMA, she has not promised anything for the affected trainees. I am so ashamed to be a part of this body who is not even prepared to acknowledge such striking differences in a high stake and expensive exam costing nearly £2000 every sitting.
Why would they acknowledge these differences as they are getting salaries from poor trainees failing again and again due to no fault of their own.
I hope Clare has stopped calling this saga as a mere 'NOISE' and start having some insight into the extent of this problem.

  • BMA calls for review of postgraduate GP training to address alleged racial bias

    Munna Bhai MBBS's comment 07 Oct 2013 10:25pm

These reports are not doing any good to the morale of IMG's appearing for AKT/CSA in the near future. Why is that RCGP is the centre of racial bias allegations and not any other Royal college?
Clare and Helen stokes-Lampard's comments will lead us no where. I agreee with Dr Esmail's study and the others who feel that the bias is too obvious to be ignored.
Let me give you a very small example-
In this exam you could easily fail any candidate by giving him/her 0/3 in interpersonal skills as there are no set parameters that would decide these 3 marks. So a particular examiner can give me 0/3, 1/3, 2/3 or 3/3 for doing practically the same thing depending on his subjective understanding of my interpersonal skills. This is exactly why IMG's are failing so much.
As the RCGP ladies above have defended the exam by saying there can't be any exam to pass everyone, I would simply argue -there can't be any exam to fail everyone simply because the examiners can decide that subjectively on a case to case basis!!

  • Evidence of racial bias in MRCGP exam claims author of independent review, as row erupts over 'contradictory' second version of research

    Munna Bhai MBBS's comment 02 Oct 2013 11:16am

    Dear Una
At present, as you are aware, RCGP has spent all money on hifi 2nd generation ipads. There is no money left for the cheap video recorders. So please don't ask for any video recording.
Hope you can explain this to all your BME candidates and BAPIO.

    Dear Clare
What would you like to say to all these Pulsians who were eagerly awaiting this independent review?

Why did the college try to brush the findings under the carpet?

What are you doing regarding diversity of examiners and role players in Nov sitting as recommended by this study?

What are you doing to decrease the unconscious bias in this flawed exam?

When will you improve the substandard feedback?

You will agree that when you go shopping, there is a money back guarantee for faulty goods even worth £100. Most of us have spent £3000-£6000 on this sub standard exam. Will you refund our money and also pay the damages?

    Munna Bhai MBBS's comment 27 Sep 2013 7:59pm

The college has been adopting a defensive attitude ever since this controversy was highlighted by the Pulse team.
I think Clare should take the responsibility of this whole fiasco. She will go down in history books as one of the mot controversial figures to ever chair the college!!

  • International doctors granted judicial review of the MRCGP exam

    Munna Bhai MBBS's comment 19 Aug 2013 11:28am

Regarding someone who commented about introspection -
We can introspect and might find that our English standards are not what the RCGP examiners and role players expect.
Have the RCGP examiners and role players introspected that in real life, we have to treat patients and not role players and till now there hasn't been any problem with communication skills of any of the 300 doctors axed by RCGP examiners.
Please do comment after reading this as I am open for a face to face debate with you.

  • International doctors granted judicial review of the MRCGP exam

    Munna Bhai MBBS's comment 05 Aug 2013 9:12pm

I think now that the case is ready to be discussed in the courts, a lot more truth will come out.
As soemone commented yesterday, I too had a clear pass in data gathering and management with a clear fail in interpersonal skills. I wonder if Clare can take the courage and come out in her defence on this. She will not dare!!
In one sitting, I failed by 2 marks and had a nice trend of 6-7 marks every station except one case which suddenly got me 1 mark (that's right 1 mark) which is nothing other than discriminatory examiner and the biased role player.
I cannot believe that the royal college is continuing such a fake exam and putting patient's lives at risk.
By the way, I still haven't learnt how to say honky donkey and as such stand no chance to pass this exam.
BAPIO, BIDA, BPDF and UNA COALES good luck!!

  • Legal action commences over MRCGP exam failure rates

    Munna Bhai MBBS's comment 03 Apr 2013 7:17am

BAPIO have another meeting with Rcgp on 05.04.2013. This could have been communicated to reassure everyone. I don't know what this will achieve?
All my friends who have passed should continue to fight for the cause of those who have been released from training. They should realise that the college is still asleep on this issue and there is no reason why we should pass by 1 or 2 marks in our 2nd 3rd or 4th attempts while most local white trainees should get high 90's in their first attempt. This is direct discrimination and the college should be ashamed of this.

Was my question regarding date of JR derogatory? If nit why has it been deleted?
Why don't BAPIO post any updates on JR? What happened to 28.03.13?
Dear moderator my post is not offensive. Please don't delete it.

    Munna Bhai MBBS's comment 18 Mar 2013 9:26pm

No I don't work for anybody. I am a victim like others and chose him as I was impressed with Raj Chaudhary's work especially on HSMP issue. He has a medical background and has himself been through a similar phase in life. Hence, I feel he understands our cause much better than others.
My aim is to fight injustice and the biggest injustice overseas graduates are facing today is victimisation in some Royal college exams based on skin colour. It's a pity I don't have any legal background, otherwise would have fought this on my own.
I fully support BAPIO for a judicial review and have contributed 2 times already for the cause.

    Munna Bhai MBBS's comment 18 Mar 2013 8:09am

Some comments above are extremely derogatory. However, most seem to be off topic and in response to comments against IMG's. The local graduates in most specialities seem to understand and support the issue of discrimination and exorbitant exam fee and are unlikely to post such comments.
The CSA results would be out tomorrow or day after. There would be many more IMG's who would have to join this cause because of discrimination. Watch this space!

  • GMC review into MRCGP to be led by racism expert

    Munna Bhai MBBS's comment 17 Mar 2013 10:08pm

What is the aim of this review? Will the entire system be transparent or is this just another review by GMC to do damage control. If the review finds significant flaws in the new CSA, how will it compensate the affected trainees? Will it also affect those who have passed it? Nothing has been mentioned by GMC about the procedure and other panel members. We need full details urgently. What is BAPIO doing about judicial review?
