Curb Your Enthusiasm
Any full time GP should be on £100,000 and shouldn't be ashamed to accept it. Good points made about those in the city making 3-4 times what we earn with a nice xmas bonus I bet also ( I got a box of biscuits). Years of study, self sacrifice and burdening the stresses and illnesses of our patients every day for
I was proud to be on the cover. The whole event was disgusting and made us all very angry
Anyone else looking for alternative careers as much as me?
well done Patrick McNally
Good luck Dr BG
sensible advice about not dipping in the elderly. Many pts overtreated in this age range and not enough MCS checked
and the GMC didnt strike her off at any time?? yet they strike off DR BG a doctor doing her BEST to save a poorly child who had health issues. what a joke. GMC - disgusting. GMC - you should hang your head in shame
totally agree also. Lost count of how many times been to NHs to be told the "urine dip was positive for everything doctor"., when the real reason they "look pale...didnt eat breakfast today... seemed tired" is that they are 95 years old and not that they have a bacterial UTI. I feel most GPs will be slow on the uptake of this however
I agree with "semi-retired" - petition to reinstate Dr BG.?
This case has made me consider and change my role as a GP. We've never been under such scrutiny and pressure, increasing demands and sky-high indemnity fees. I feel I cant wait to retire - shame thats a long way off for me.
well done pulse
ps: does anyone know if the Leicester Deanery are taking any responsibility or getting any sh*t? they should be but ive heard nothing from them or whether there's an inquest onto their staffing problems and huge failings on the day
Dear Pulse - lets have a Poll on the homepage " do you have faith in the GMC - yes/no" or something to that affect in regards to this case.
totally in agreement with all of these comments
Best of luck to Dr BG
ps - what happened to her could of happened to any of us. But then again Im white and english and so id probably be ok.
She had suffered enough and then GMC went after her. Disgusting behaviour. Whats the point in striking off a good doctor in this case especially given the awful situation she found herself in on that day. she was treated like a criminal. "Manslaughter" - youre having a laugh. This is the worst case Ive come across since my time in medicine - makes me sick.
She has been treated appallingly. Wheres the support?First day back after mat leave and understaffed. What about the deanary taking some responsibility for putting her in this vulnerable position? Absolute joke. Poor girl - she deserves better
any news on other indemnity providers??
18 months?! Get a move on Jeremy. It probably wont be that good anyway - not sure why I should get my hopes up
