anonymous gp nhs
quoted 18500 for working 7 session 6 normal and 1 ooh session by mdu .
mdu fees are not transparent atleast like mddus where you get a quote instantly on website . you will have 2 identical gps with same number of years of experience and same claims if any and doing same work but the quote are different . not sure how it works
i am in process of leaving in an yr or so to canada. you dont make much after tax paying so much and dealing with government (ccg)bureaucracy aswell.
i am being paid 95/hr to work in a&e, even then i do only 1-2 shifts a month. if they reduce it i will just cancel it, i have cancelled all my shifts my ooh provider in last 6 months due to fixing of rate of 80/hr. doesnt make any sense paying 20000 per yr mdu fees to work for these i...ts. i know there are still may people who do for 65/hr- all you need is one complaint landing and mdu fees rocketing
leave this doomed system before it takes it with you
no enough gps will replace these older gps who are joining the trusts due to salaried model- you will loose a lot in tax and the salary itseld isnt that great..the trusts will strugle and emply locums as they are doing in wales now .
One more reason to Leave the sinking boat
I agree with above. Easy to refer than expect to provide a service for 15 pence per pt as usual the ccg will ask you to...
You will loose more gps..to Australia
every pt is different, one works for one doesnt mean it will work for every one. no harm in trying and continuing if it works for the pt-
we treat pts individually its not a cattle market .. i hope the i...ts understand who say these statements... or do what 2nd person above states and lets put them in a meltdown
spiralling rates ... out of control.. my a..e..
i get paid 90 per hr including everything no pensions no travel etc .. take home is far less than a partners unless you do ooh which the pay sucks esp in our area in yorkshire where we get paid 65 on weekday if you work directly with provider or 80 including everything if through agency no wonder they are struggling to recruit gps- pay properly and everyone will work either locum or partner..
keep the ones who are here happy and they wont leave nhs, lost 6 friends to other countries last year and i would have been as well , just stopped cause my otherhalf is in training halfway.. getting new ones and soon they will leave unless things change.
Private contractors bidding war to get contract at lowest price. then reduce gp pay per hr. Here in Yorkshire directly through provider is 65/hr. Far less than daytime. medicolegal Risk is 100%more. Who wants to do ooh.. Pay properly then we will do it. There are plenty of gps who are willing to do ooh but stopped due to poor pay and medicolegal risks.
we idiots / gps will never learn even with past mistakes just done few yrs ago and agree with this comment
Hopelessly naive - I really do dispair.
This kind of blinkered thinking is exactly why this kind of "contract" will probably go through. And then the govt will tighten the screws for the next 5 years (a la GMS2, QOF, extended hours etc etc) and then we'll be back to where we started.
It's absolutely shocking that people (GPs) never learn.
