At least there is one well deserved mention of a person who does some REAL GP work. Keep up the good work Nick. You sir, are a legend.
if they do none (or minimal) coal face patient facing services, how can they be a top GP?
Even in their 80s and 90s??
I think there is more to this story. What happened to supporting our colleagues when they are at the wrong end of something that could happen to any of us, rather than being judgmental? GPs need to look after each other and get off their high horse.
Why wait. just cancel your direct debit with the RCPG and save £££. You won't miss them at all.
Why would anyone still pay £500 to be a member of the RCPG? beggars belief...
Become a doctor. Just leave the UK as soon as you qualify to somewhere that appreciates, respects and looks after doctors. Not the GMC. Not the NHS. Not the UK.
During system failures, only the doctors lose their livlihood and get charged with gross negligence man slaughter. Everyone else gets of scot free. The powers that be do not care if you were the only doctor covering the whole of wales, you are totally liable.
never worked in general practice so doesn't really understand.

Have they not suffered enough.......
Thank you. the best laugh I have had all day. currently on duty suffering it...
Pharmacy "I don't want to take responsibility for this (but thanks for paying me per patient). You must see (an overworked) GP today".
Only 2.3m for GPs and 2.1m for pharmacy? Really?
It has already been confirmed LLPs will not be an option as "it provides no further protection". Despite the lawyers and Accountants all being LLPs. The answer is going to be carry with GMS and Fully liable partnerships, but consider extra funded roles (such as pharmacists, paramedics, physicians associates). So no change in terms of liability for the GP and the death of partnerships will continue.
Legend. Thank you Alan.
Don't forget all the following are avenues to complain and each one will require further time to answer and appologise irrespective of if you have done the right thing or not:
Local complaints procedure in surgery
Another non GP telling people who have been doing this job since before they were born how it is! Great. Thank you for the insight.
Until the BMA is clear that they are only about the doctors they represent (and have nothing to do with patient care, there are enough public bodies and the doctors themselves who deal with that side ), they are not getting a single penny from me.
Naive but you will learn. Enjoy the feeling while it lasts. Soon every one of these you will bat back to their "usual GP". Trust me.
