Single handed GP in North Wales since 2002. Locum for a year prior to that. Salaried before that and in partnership for all of 9 months before that (1999 2000).
2009 Hottrax Senior 6 hour Endurance champion (1000cc) in case you were wondering about the photo.
Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
NSAID gel? Really? :-D
Life is the biggest cause of death. Studies have shown that being alive has a 100% mortality in all subjects.
Similar to the study that showed all subjects who consumed dihydrogen monoxide on a reguilar basis had a 100% mortality rate also. Ban this evil substance!
Oooo!! Yes please! Would that mean I can take a paid holiday and have employees rights?
Yet another study to confirm ursarial woodland defecation.
The way morale is at the moment most of us will "totally get it" as we end up as mental health service users ourselves.
The fee for mental health act assessments has been the same now for 11 years - essentially another year on year pay cut. Little wonder we struggle to train GPs to take on the extra responsibility to become section 12(2) approved and take the lead locally on mental health.
Deckchairs on the Titanic.
Re the pic you have used. Tredegar is not in England :-)
Had this just this week. The bill was £140 from PPL (not £115). We already had PRS license so PPL was news to me.
My stance now is that if punters want music they can bring an mp3 player. It's not like I'm trying to attract new business.
When I was a 3rd year medical student it dawned on me I'd made the wrong choice studying medicine at all. Still here 25 years later though.
It amazes me how people confuse being "fit" with being overweight. Have you seen how far you have to run just t burn off the calories in 1 digestive biscuit? (About a mile). Exercise is part of a healthy lifestyle but ain't gonna make anyone lose any significant amount of weight. Good for their heart to support the extra weight though :-)
Like turkeys asking Bernard Matthews (or his bequeathed company) to stop Christmas.
Oooo.. handy for Mallory Park an Donington though....
Am I the only one irked by Bob's comment about being a largely fecund female GP? :-P Cheers Bob.
FWIW 60+hr/week single handed GP and single mum of 2 teenagers.
The problem is now that the LHB will have to soak up 2 more scarce locums off the scene. Locums that I rely on to attend meetings and (heaven fobid) take a holiday once in a blue moon. (singlehander in North Wales).
I don't get it. What's wrong with desktops and why does anyone need a smartphone for work especially if they spend most of their time in front of a desktop?
I have never understood why the BMA take it upon themselves to push their nannying status on the public when then purport to represent the majority of us... If only they could do the job they were supposed to of standing up for us rather than disseminating misguided views that many of us do not hold.
Anon yesterday @ 6pm. Yes, I do all of the things that your 6 partners do (I have several diplomas) plus I am the practice manager as I have never received any MPIG to fund this post. No I have no life (single parent of 2 teenagers) other than riding fast motorbikes occasionally. Managed my first week off in 3 years last month :-) I have done this for 12 years so far. i can;t retire as I've never been able to afford to pay 25% of my income into the NHS pension scheme.
Sanjeev, it says you are a partner there. How can you be a partner if you are single handed? (Apologies for being pedantic but I have never understood how Pulse don't accommodate us with a proper descriptive title!) :-P
