'The Daily Mail should do a more educational and responsible report' is an oxymoronic and fantastical thought.
This has arisen because the medical industry has been in the pocket of the pharmaceutical industry for decades. It is about to fall into the pocket of the insurance industry.
Now that the Daily Mail is promoting the 'execution of GPs' they may have greater empathy with patients, many of whom would have died in gulags if the DM had had its way.
Confusing homeopathy with natural remedies has been exploited by Big Pharma to confuse issues and distract attention from their profiteering. bark of willow is of course the source of aspirin. All opiates are originally natural medicines. The contraceptive pill has source in nature. Anesthetics sourced from snake venom, to name but a few. Most "real drugs" are sourced from animal, vegetable or mineral.
Too many people who consider themselves to be rational science based types, are ranting like Daily Mail readers every time natural Medicine is mentioned. These loonies have been duped. Of course there is no reason to accept homeopathy, but natural remedies are at the root of almost every prescribed medication.

Peverley's column would be more at home in Country Life or The Lady.
The methods employed by ATOS are scandalous. They contravene practically all of the NICE Guidelines for Clinical Excellence.
If patients were paying an admission fee, then they would be less likely to accept some of the sub standard consultations on offer by many GP's.
Many GP's would find themselves at the bottom of patient's list, and would find themselves moonlight for ATOS and such like

Awareness days are necessary because of the lack of awareness of many health problems that appears to afflict the medical profession.
Admittedly many of these seem absurd. However, as a sufferer of ME, I like many of the 250,000 victims of this illness, I have abandoned GP's and the internet is now my doctor.
The ignorance and arrogance of the medical profession in relation to a host of conditions is what has prompted these campaigns.
Nice to see that Canada is benefiting from your UK paid education
Anti spasmodics are currently being handed out willy nilly to people with undiagnosed illnesses, ME, CFS, Fibromyalgia etc.
They are used as mind numbers in prisons.
Consequences may never be known
