I personally received a letter this morning that I should be shielding. No idea why as I have none of the conditions which warrant shielding and am remarkably fit and well with no underlying health conditions. Do they know something I don’t? Is there a coding error in my records somewhere? Contacted my GP , who is also puzzled. There is nothing in the letter that states the condition for which I must shield. All very worrying and anxiety inducing.
I had a low News score when attended A&E for the first time in my 68 years. Although displaying the signs of Sepsis and saying ‘I felt like I was dying’. I was sent home to see my GP after the weekend. 56 hours later my GP admitted me with Sepsis and I spent 2weeks fighting for survival. If I as a GP can’t navigate through the system, even though I escalated to see the consultant in A&E , what hope has the general public. Too much reliance on tick boxes instead of experience and clinical acumen
Recently I presented to my A&E with self diagnosed Sepsis. Was told I didn’t have a high enough News score to warrant further investigation in hospital and advised to see my GP. 48 hours later I was admitted and spent 2 weeks fighting to stay alive. The doctors I saw in A&E hid behind the protocol and failed to use their clinical acumen. This was only the 2 nd time in my life that I attended A&E the 1st aged 2 years with a fractured arm and hadn’t attended my GP for over 10 years. I Should have been taken more seriously.
Stop pandering to the lowest common denominator. Better to raise literacy standards and promote health education in schools.
Totally inappropriate. RCGP should be politically neutral. Certainly not democratic to ask for another vote. They are certainly not representing GPS, who may have as many disparate opinions as the rest of the population.
Still awaiting my email?
This is for ongoing care of a diagnosed condition. Noctors and proctors are not able to make a differential diagnosis when they are not even aware that diseases even exist.
Last. Man Standing should stand down. Or go work in Orkney for £80 per day!
I get multiple requests from patients in the 70 to 80 years old bracket, who have been denied NHS vaccine and wish to pay for it privately. But unfortunately there had been no supply since the summer. Yet another vaccine shortage!!
Would love to be able to vaccinate, but vaccine out of stock at GSK. Lots of issues with many vaccines unavailable. NHS E should address procurement urgently.
This government wants the NHS to fail, but wants doctors to take the blame and be the fall guys
Using the same reasoning, there will probably be no need for MPs and Health Secretary in the future since all policy decisions will be made by advanced computer technologies
