Well my cats have been prescribed this by my vets .
One has it for dental pain, another for pain after facial fractures from RTA.
Latter cat has also had tramadol.
Trouble is you can't give PCM to cats.
Meloxicam only alternative , but cat is on steroids.
I have used gaba myself for CRPS ( now recovered) and never felt euphoria, nor the potential for addiction.
We are diverse in our reactions to medications.
What ? When I get sent sore throats, cut fingers & all children under 2 years because it is deemed a doctor should see them.
Unfortunately this equates to 'an emergency' by the patient & they are often added on as extras on a friday afternoon.
I would worry about the quality of secondary referral
He isn't sacked - my app says he stays in post.
At least no one needed a 'cone' biopsy!
Did you prescribe 'honeycombe' ice cream for nits?
Was the champagne addict prescribed a Magnum ?
Was 'tutti fruitti' good for lack of libido patients?
Was pink ice cream helpful for a strawberry neavus?
Did the podiatrist ask him to issue a 'cornetto' ?
And of course too much ice cream can make the skin 'wafer' thin.
But the main difference between us and the ice cream seller is that he Isn't free at the point of delivery - but he still somehow manages to have a queue of customers.
Oh hang on - that's what Jeremy H wanted all along!
So glad I locum. I can chose - w/e OOH, GP practice OR ......not work at all.
There is no hope without public support too. As I sat in OOH at 21.00 on the bank holiday week and saw a pt with a cough/chest ( not sick) who said that he had wanted to see his own GP practice but of course they weren't open over Xmas or NY, hence he had come now. I asked what he did for a living - runs his own business, which had closed for the Xmas period, so it was convenient for him to be seen now with sx that he had for a weeks or so. I resisted the temptation to ask if it seemed a bit unfair that all his workers had time off, whilst he expected us health staff to work all the way through, usual daytime hours, so he could be seen.
Obviously our roles are far too important to allow us to have Xmas with friends & family........
