  • Training practices face paying part of GP trainee salaries in education funding shakeup from next April

An interesting number of comments - ignoring the journalists that are trolling about.

In comparison with pharmacy, training is part funded by the contractor. Pre-regs are usually driven within themselves on a do-or-die mentality to pass and get working. All healthcare trainees should be thinking this.

Providing training should be an altruistic choice. We must remember the people who helped us to get where we are now. Did they do it for financial reason or for the genuine love for progressing the profession in a new generation? Just a thought...

  • GPC welcomes new NICE guidance on patient group directions

I do agree with Mr Radnan.

The large company chemists have stretched the provision of PGDs. I feel that the influence of American partners and their working ethics have been felt over here. However, the NHS and primary care is a different beast.

Would the private PGD supplier firms now have to clear their work through individual CCGs?
