Get rid of this political quango - it is nothing but a bully and does NOTHING to improve patient safety.
And...we pay for the pleasure!
Just use the money to fund OOH properly!
Got my vote too.
If PHE advise patients require Tamiflu...then they should ask PH doctors to prescribe it. Just more dumping of non evidence based rubbish on an already over stretched service.
What a total waste of time this will be! GPC's usual pathetic response.
Yes, don't let them bully you. Anyone with an ounce of common sense can see there is absolutely nothing wrong in signposting patients to services they can self-refer to if they wish.
What an absolute shambles. Prof Field has no credibility and should go. The damage to these practices has already been done and the CQC should never have published this in the first place. Shame on the GPC once again for not standing up for grassroots GPs.
I think the leaflet is a wonderful idea and we should all be sending it to our patients in solidarity...would like to see what NHSE would do then. Pulse please publish it so we can copy & paste.
I feel embarrassed to still be a BMA member. I just can't bear it anymore and will not be renewing my membership. If this is the best the GPC can do...then we are doomed.
I don't think it matters which party is in power. The long-term damage has already been done and there is no political will to change that.
They certainly do not represent me or any other GP I know.
Totally agree with Dr Murray - GPs just giving in and taking on more and more is taking its toll. Focussing on daft ideas like this prevents us from doing the job we have been trained to do. As for increased income streams - doesn't exist...it is more work for less.
Sorry Dr Chand but I am firmly behind Una on this one. The BMA have let GPs down time and time again. Enough with the rhetoric - it's time for some proper action that will make politicians and the public sit up and take notice. Sadly it may take more practices to fail for that to happen.
