The use of 'price freeze' is misleading - the MDDUS are still increasing rates by 12.5% per year (I just received my renewal with an increase in cost of £1000 since last year). They just aren't yet applying an increase to account for the expected increase in costs due to the change in personal injury discount rate.
I think the previous 3 comments are a bit harsh. While the stories themselves might be somewhat contrived, I quite like a case-based discussion to think through differentials and what my approach to a case would be. Also, remember some of those reading will be trainees. Stop being so sensitive and reading GP-bashing into everything.
Good article. Could also mention thrombocytosis in FBC section as increasing likelihood of malignancy as per CAPER
