It seemed like a great idea to ban the drug reps. They didn’t do very much except give you a pen, a few little gizmos - like a pregnancy wheel with PREGADAY written on it, a free lunch an the odd weekend in Gleneagles. No-one knew or cared too much about what they were selling - least of all the reps themselves who were mostly home by 2pm. Now all the reps are fired - freeing up lots of money for the drug companies to spend on the far more effective, if circuitously implemented, direct to consumer marketing.
Well done the sour faced and preachy “no free lunch” brigade - your efforts were worthwhile.
