GP planning to retire asap
Dr O'Riordan might be available...
Totally agree with all this. The GMC has lost the respect of the medical profession, and is not fit for purpose. Massey's resignation would go some way to restoring confidence in the GMC, otherwise I can't see why we should continue to pay subscriptions to enable them to unfairly scapegoat us in a failing system,& take us to court, leaving us to crowd fund to support the poor doctor on the receiving end and essentially fund both sides. Not to mention the high suicide rate of doctors facing investigation by the GMC, the GMC should be ashamed of themselves, do some serious reflection, and be accountable. Or do they have double standards, one for them and one for us?
Perhaps we can best support her in a practical way by crowdfunding her legal appeal, as these issues need to be properly addressed. Otherwise the practice of medicine is untenable in a failing system.
Good for the junior doctors, no reason why they should sacrifice their physical & mental health for the NHS. They are entitled to a work life balance, just like everyone else, and will be better doctors for it. Possibly if they'd been treated better by Jeremy Hunt etc they might feel differently & more motivated, its not rocket science!
Poor doctor, what a nightmare, there but for the grace of God etc...this is becoming an impossible job!

So outdated and offensive as to be barely worth replying to....I am a female GP, I work full time in General Practice, plus additional work as an appraiser etc. I have also brought up 4 daughters, 3 of whom are now at medical school. Should I not have bothered, and just stayed at home?
