  • Debate: Do practices have a duty to support locums during the pandemic?

    CENSORSHIP?'s comment 01 Jul 2020 1:04am

You can't expect all the benefits without any of the drawbacks and expect practices to book you when there isn't any work.

You can say the same with regards NHS England
And how practices expect to be payed

You can't expect all the benefits without any of the drawbacks and expect NHS England to pay you when there isn't any work done for qoff and access has been significantly reduced

  • GP practices given four weeks to complete outstanding BAME risk assessments

    CENSORSHIP?'s comment 28 Jun 2020 3:41pm

Well who is medicolegal responsible if there is a COVID BAME death??
Each BAME member has to self assess their own risk..And only proceed with work which is safe...
Or sign a statement that they are aware of the risks and take full responsibility to proceed...

Employers have a duty to protect their staff as much as possible

    Who will enforce this?
    NHS England or CQC

  • Delay CQC inspections for at least a year to protect GP mental health, say top GPs

    CENSORSHIP?'s comment 21 Jun 2020 10:55am

Let's say there is a situation of bare minimum service provision...
    One Doctor
    One Nurse
Phone consults as much as possible...
    1. Patients deserve better access
    2. Patients deserve better care
    3. NHS England..
    should inspect to ensure
They are getting value for money
    4. A fixed amount of patient contacts needs to be ensured...and where a practice is not able to do this..then there needs to be funding for locum cover..

I suspect NHS england is complicit in allowing a bare skeleton service
and does not want to fund locum coverage where it is needed

Has anyone ensured a full BAME Risk analysis?
    Hospitals still haven't

They say Locum work has ended... in reality the current environment should mean locums are needed more than ever..

I welcome CQC Assessments 1. To ensure General practice staff are risk assessed and protected from COVID

    2. Patient appointment availability reflects the true size of a practice

  • BMA calls for compulsory face masks in GP practices

    CENSORSHIP?'s comment 07 Jun 2020 10:21am

We all know the real number has surpassed
    50 000 deaths...
10 000 care home deaths unexplained

    An inconvenient truth
    Like the rising R number

    Masks reduce spread
But FFP3 prevents catching the virus

Home made masks need to be three layers thick.

Just sewing ear holders to a rectangle is unlikely to be good enough..

Has the Government / NHS England behaved unlawfully in lack of PPE provision?

Sky News has obtained a copy of the letter sent by lawyers representing Dr Gardner.

In it lawyers write: "Our client believes that the policies and measures adopted by the health secretary, NHS England and Public Health England have manifestly failed to protect the health, wellbeing and right to life of those residing and working in care homes.

"Their failings have led to large numbers of unnecessary deaths and serious illnesses. In addition, the failings of government have been aggravated by the making of wholly disingenuous, misleading and - in some cases - plainly false statements suggesting that everything necessary has been done to protect care homes during the pandemic."

Dr Gardner said: "They must answer for the policies they put out and most importantly for what they failed to do at a time when they knew that people were at risk; they knew that some people were more vulnerable than others; they took a positive step to discharge people from hospital into a place packed full of vulnerable people and that decision is so shocking it's almost unbelievable."

    1. A clinically suspicious case is tested
    2. The contacts will not be tested..but will be told to isolate.alone

Sounds like there are distribution issues with the quantities of tests

    CENSORSHIP?'s comment 28 May 2020 10:38am

    Still no definite testing of
    ALL NHS Workers and
    ALL CARE Home staff
ALL Discharges back to care homes..

    Better than nothing
But feels alot like closing the gate after the horse has bolted..

    Assymptomatic carriers??
    Different strategies in different areas
In say small rural pockets..test everyone
If all clear.. road block the area as a safe zone

The GOV has learnt not to set arbitrary figures..
    It later cannot meet..
or which reveals it's own badly thought out strategies

Who are all these contact tracers.. would not be surprised if they are Tory party supporters / canvassers.

Did not see any national uptake programmes?

    Hidden Herd immunity strategy continues?

    Survival of the fittest/Luckiest?

    What about false negatives?
Why not just apply contact tracing
    ALL clinically positive cases?
