Well deserved, Ian!
So the Chief Constable is reported as follows:
"He added that record access would allow police to track next of kin, and medical information for when dealing with someone with Alzheimer’s, or check for pertinent information on a patient’s drugs or alcohol history before responding to a call."
Have you ever tried to get information from the Police about a patient you are about to see / visit as to the risk to yourself?
The Police want all the information they can get yet are very reluctant to share what they already have, even where there may be a significant risk to a health professional.
Information-sharing is a two-way street, Chief Constable!
