I’ve left the pension scheme at 34 years old. There’s 50K+ the Ponzi scheme is deprived of annually. Life insurance is incredibly reasonable at my age.
How does this work if a practice has chosen not to participate in the voluntary PCN DES? Or is this more evidence that there was nothing voluntary about it?
Hang your heads in shame BMA. It's a complete scandal. More work for less money. Again.
As a GP partner if you’ve opted out of the pension scheme will you be given this extra 6% as cash?
I've just opted out aged 34 for this reason. VCTs are looking attractive...
If core funding is being limited to 1.6% per year how is this not top slicing to fund the indemnity?
150K looks like a lot but after tax and pension it's a much more modest sum. I wonder if this naming and shaming will be pre or post deductions?
I’m a remainer but even for me this story is a bit of a stretch.
Great, so pharmacies will be able to see who we have yet to vaccinate and call them in? More lost income. Cheers for that.
I’m struggling to see how this helps a) save time b) the staffing crisis. A 10 minute consultation is 10 minutes whether it’s face to face or via a video app. I don’t really see how it’s any better than a telephone consultation. You can’t examine or do obs (both of which if you’re fast you can do in a 10 minute face to face consultation), therefore video consulting is actually likely to take up more time/resource as the patient will need to be physically seen afterwards. Emporers new clothes anyone?
Time to strike?
I put in my pension opt out forms last week. They’ll just have to do without my 40-50k per year propping up their Ponzi scheme.
What are the rates in France and Canada...?
Now now. Best keep that powder dry.
After 28% pension and then 45% tax who’s going to work extra for that?!
Depending on what happens this year regarding numbers done/income gained vs nurse/organisation time/cost we may well disengage from administering flu shots altogether.
Christ, the powder gets even drier. Good work BMA.
