Remember osbornes advice to Hancock. When trying to make a change ignore the noise and just do it. Looks like he's following it to the letter.
good luck to them. just look to OOH to see how much this will cost.
excellent work. Only shame that media has to do it.
Devil in detail but sounds very promising
let him run open surgeries from 0800 to 1830 5 days a week and find ?why can"t we get anybody to be a MP anymore?
If there is to be competition there needs to be a level playing field, ie we need to be able to offer private vaccines same as pharmacy
it is actually, for once, an argument against continuity/partnership. WE can and do become complacent. 111 etc with their torturous pathways would pick up the red flags and send ambulance. Of course there will be great delay because they have sent 1000 other ambulances that day,
I find it amazing that such a scheme can be announced prior to be it being fully thought through/ costed. It is little wonder we are in such a mess with Brexit.
I did not realise that we could house a private GP provider in house and encourage patients to use that.
I hope he realises how vital this issue is. One of the only things keeping me in partnership is this idea of state backed indemnity. If it turns out to be BS ...
they just need to quit the fags and get some exercise and not too bothered what you call it.
Interesting. Would be good to know the stats on state vs private education on career outcomes as well.
Have been calling for research into this for some time. The move to larger groups is not a natural evolution but a consequence of deliberate starvation of the traditional model. Policy makers would do well to respect the views expressed on the ground as unfortunately they often seem to be backed by emerging evidence.
any intervention can been seen to show a small, short term impact. The big question, which studies never answer ,is the LONG term ie over say 10 years. Older GPs know the answer to that one (see above).
problem is that anything that is NOT on a 2ww pathway is pushed further and further behind.
in my rural, largely elderly population type practice DNAs are unfortunately rare. Any methods anyone can suggest to increase DNA rate would be welcome.
yes but where is the fun in that. better to be networking/lunching with lots of IT companies - you have to think of the (my). future.
Agree. Also needs greater voice on PSA and screening CT scans in private sector. Emotive stories from pressure groups/pop stars seem to carry more weight.
who protects us from the public?
So this would offset any gains from indemnity. Would finish many remaining partners
