All this makes me very sad and seriously reconsidering my career. The current blame culture and societies pathological desire to see an individual sent down for a system riddled with errors makes me wonder if we really can continue to work as doctors in the UK. I'm glad Dr Bawa-Gaba has 'won'. But at what cost did it come?
And what happens to the ones who are left and are too young to retire?
His comments were deplorable. Why would you ever wish bankruptcy and ruin on anyone? Let alone when it's not their fault but forced upon them by politicians and a broken NHS. He should also consider his position as 'top GP'.
Not forgiven. We know what he really thinks now. His comments are an insult to hard working frontline GPs who care for their patients everyday. Just because one model of care works for him, doesn't mean it works everywhere. Where are the GPC in all this?
The man does talk nonsense. We have to recruit loads more GPs so we're giving you a pay cut so we can afford to recruit them. Somehow it's my fault we need GPs so u should be punished and earn less again, for another year.
Doesn't surprise me. It seems only GPs are willing to take 'a risk'. Which is why everything is pushed onto us. It almost feels we are here to take the blame for everything which goes wrong in someone's life
Playing Euromillions tonight. Fingers crossed.
This is not a pay rise. It's another pay cut. 2% is well below current inflation. Shame on you BMA. You're a disgrace
What an idiot. Where do they find them? Let's ignore all the experts in the field. Just because he like something it then must be great for everyone. Bring back Hunt.
Idiots. All the money going to Amazon and not front line staff who will have to work harder when Alexa signposts everyone to a 'same day GP appointment'. Time to get out.
It's more than 20%.
Finally some common sense. I hope all the other CCGs are watching
I think it says it all about Babylon if he is a patient.
The silver lining of Brexit. Though whoever we get will make little difference.
I hope they are extending this to all other colleges. Feedback from my patients have led me to believe our hospital colleagues can be guilty of this - more so than us.
Well done. Finally some progress. When can I stop paying my GMC fees? We shouldn't have to pay for them if we have no confidence in them.
Dr Spence does make a good point a about dental health inequality since the 2006 contract. But he fails to add dentists have a better work life balance and pay compared to GPs. I've lost count of the amount of times I see dental problems as 'we're free', and 'can't you just give me some antibiotics, doc'.
Yay no more evening clinics
How will a half day course prepare anyone from crap we face on a daily basis? Colouring books?
