The partnership model is the jewel in the crown which must be protected
I was quite disappointed when this news broke Sunday. A bit of extra money to 'fix the NHS'so the problems it currently faces can be swept under the carpet. We all know this is not enough to properly fund the NHS and most of it will go into secondary care. I would have much rather has a proper debate on what we want from the NHS and correct funding put in place to meet those needs.
This is a social care problem. Don't make it into an NHS problem.
I think we should still perform a DRE to rule out differentials such as a rectal tumour so we refer to the correct subspecialty.
£72K outside of London is pretty poor. This won't attract anyone. And they get hit with a big stick of they decided the job is crap and go home.
Still trying to fix a broken NHS by blaming the staff left in it instead of recruiting more staff to help ease pressures. Nothing has been learnt. All lip service and sound bites. An absolute disgrace.
This something a pharmacist can deal with
We should also do a placement as a social worker as there seems to be a large rise in that type of work.
MyBad has hit the nail on the head. To be told I have to do this until I'm at least 68 for an average salary pension really does not make me want to stay. That's 10 years more work than the current average retirement age. This is what new GPs to the profession are facing.
Unless funding is increased and we can keep the partnership model this will happen to practices up and down the country
I feel the biggest threat to the partnership model us uncertainty. Why would you take on all that risk when the government can squeeze practices and `let them wither in the vine`.
Why is it everything I advise or prescribe has to be evidence based. Yet the GMC still makes me waste my time on something which has been proven to not achieve it was set out to do?
Typical RCGP response. Ultimately it’s down to us. Only GPs can change the mess we find ourselves in. We have to do this by raising our profile and pushing back. We need to start by setting a maximum workload limit. This will then set a value to a GP appointment which currently has little or no value as they’re seen as a limitless supply.
I’ve relocated recently and my relocations costs are around £25K, for estate agent fees, stamp duty, legal fees etc.
We need an uplift in salaries and better working conditions Once u take the tax, NI and pensions off this they will be left with very little
Clearly a well funded CCG
Another defeat thanks to the BMA - do they do anything for us?
I hope the GMC are reflecting upon this, which can then be used in Dr BG appeal process
Why did the BMA agree to this? Shame on them
Babylon is not general practice. When are our regulatory bodies going to investigate their clinical processes instead of persecuting individual doctors.
