Wow Sarah - that's where I went wrong!
Spinal Tap moment
"What's wrong with being sexy?'
I think we should insist on 8 day a week opening, outdo the bastards.
Anonymous@10.47 - thanks for the Ciivitas article- at last some research into the nightmare that is GMC investigation. How did I miss this when it came out? Did it make the headlines at the time?
I think we would stand a better chance of justice under high-court judges - I've seen one protracted torture of a GMC FTP decision overturned with scorn by a judge in a matter of hours.
Absolutely spot on, genuinely laughed out loud
Absolutely agree with this, many awful examples; terminal care patient prescribed red-list antifungal by tertiary referral centre at £4000 for the course - red-flag so our regional hospital should have dispensed this; they simply didn't have the drug in stock so our choice was to blow our budget on a single drug or see the patient suffer.
There is no point saving pennies in GP if the consultants are oblivious to the ever-shifting sands of drug costs.
Jeremy Hunt neatly demonstrating that he has no clue about General Practice, what we do or how we work. We are easily the most technology-savvy part of the NHS - (...er we don't get paid otherwise...) - and IT doesn't ease workload, only changes it.
Revalidation - in what possible way could it free up time. He has swallowed a load of buzzwords and is regurgitating them at random!
You have crystallised my feelings exactly - the politicians are transforming a challenging but rewarding job into an unpleasant and impossible one.
Now are we going to do anything about it?
