Bye and thanks for all the fish
Retired NHS GP locuming when the mood takes me. Petrolhead, runner and ex-Pulse blogger
I retired at 58 years and 3 months in 2016 with absolutely no regrets.
"Pulse columnist Dr Hadrian Moss, who was served with a breach of contract notice after following BMA advice and informally closing his list" - oh no we didn't! We were never served with s breach notice.
"The institute has admitted that its figure of 10 million avoidable antibiotic prescriptions a year was based on ‘the far end of plausibility’ of an estimate made by a single expert adviser." - I wonder if this so called expert actually has any direct patient contact?
Actually, elderly-friendly Labradors isn't a bad idea, residents would love it and personally I'd spend more time patting the dog than listening to the staff!
"All GPs will be asked to tell patients not just which hospitals they can be referred to but the relevant CQC rating and waiting times as well."
Come on folks, Hunt isn't stupid, he's a very clever politician and it's a politicians manipulation of words that the media will lap up. In practice (pun intended) this information will probably be printed out with the Choose & Book paperwork the patient collects. So, no extra work, just a bit more paper and ink which we pay for and he gets to claim the electorates admiration for it.
Well done guys
Message from reception today, can I prescribe Calpol for well child as bottle empty and might need it? Answer, No, omitted comment "am I your mother"

Found it! Perhaps Pulse should run a national competition and see which surgery can keep it up the longest in their waiting room before someone spots it?
Get well soon Phil. Your blogs are an inspiration and I've enjoyed reading them for many years. Like many others have wisely said, get out now. I've got 206 big sleeps until I do!
(iv) have the right to close their list when they alone decide it it unsafe to take on more patients - Passed
Great news, let's make sure this motion doesn't lose momentum.
Done it, definitely scorched, glad I informally closed the list!
Sanjeev "This is bullying of 'self employed' profession who have a right to say NO" - apparently we can't say no when it comes to list closure when at safe capacity!
Should the BMA call for a Judicial Review of the regulations and put this to bed one way or the other now?
I just had an email from my local LMC fully supporting us
Well written and full of truths. I think abuse sums up how our generation of young doctors were treated, and we are paying for it now.
2.09 I can't see this being a problem if what 8.30 says will happen. If other practices have capacity then good luck to them.
"NHS England was approached for comment but had not responded at time of publication" - maybe they were too busy playing Candy Crush Saga!
Here we are then
