This will be a good way to deflect blame for future CH deaths off the Government and to blame GPs for not looking after care homes properly. I think this is why they are pushing this through so quickly
Can't beat a good single handed practice
This will further destabilise Health Centre practices, Our LMC have advised under no circumstances to sign a lease with NHS PS. I am due to retire but I wasn't I would certainly be handing in my contract. It is not worth the hassle and stress.
I am in the same position as a single hander I have four rooms in an old 1970s health Centre, both reimbursed and non reimbursed have been increased by 400%. They were invoicing me for many thousands for things and services I do not receive. I have been in dispute with them since 2013 and continued to pay the historic amount. Like Dr Teed I have spent countless hours with letters, emails, meetings and on the phone and get nowhere
I thought we were all still serving penance for a rise in 2004
" GPC has not ruled out legal action" what are they waiting for?
I agree with Shaba, none of us should pay these extortionate extra charges, 400- 500% increases can never be justified. Furthermore this will discourage young doctors joining a health centre practice when they know this dispute is not resolved, so adding to to the recruitment problems
NHS PS are completely incompetent, they are trying to increase my charges by 500%. Also billing me for things I don't use. They are trying to double charge by quadrupling my rent but also moving services that the landlord should maintain onto my non reimbursable service charges. Charging a commercial rent is also nonsense as when I compared what I am paying and the cost of office accommodation it is approximately the same, in other words the NHS PS are trying charge four or five times the market rent.I continue to pay the historic charges. NHS PS are adding to the stress and problems we already face as GPs. They should be facilitating us in doing our job as front line NHS workers
Well well what a surprise! if you have properly trained clinicians involved things work better
These crazy increase in charges mean no young GP would ever sign to take over my health centre space so it is a further block on the continuation of a practice
NHS Property Services are proposing ridiculous increases in Health Centre charges. They have proposed a 500% in mine, which would make my practice non viable. They quote nonsense about charging a commercial rent, but the proposed charges are much higher and bear no resemblance to office accommodation in my area a It appears to be a deliberate attempt to destabilise health centre practises
111 service are sending everyone to A&E while we are supposed to be avoiding unplanned admissions... don't you love the joined up or rather non joined up thinking
I attended and marched with the Juniors on Saturday, they are putting us GPs and the consultants to shame, good luck to them
I attended, it was an excellent meeting, all the speakers were passionate about the NHS, many relevant points made about the fragmentation of the NHS and the starvation of funds. It was a pity the mainstream media and TV were not there to report it
I fully support these comments
I have had some run ins with patients who want my support to stay on the sick. When I have declined support for dubious sickness claims, they have tended to leave my list in a huff. But as profesional we should stick to our guns and not be brow beaten by patients, threats of complaints or not
