A horrible case of déja vu

Dr Stefano Santini, Wigan

I am an Italian GP and have been working in England for the past two years.

The main reason I left Italy is because of the unfair pressure put on GPs by the Government and the media and the burnout suffered by doctors who try to work at their best.

I have started to feel the same horrible sensation in the past few months.

The GPC, RCGP, GMC and BMA should support the profession. It seems they are more interested in achieving political consent and power.

They are colluding with the Department of Health because doing nothing in this political climate means you agree with the undermining of the medical profession.

I think we should desert them en masse and let them play their games alone.
