Pulse is looking for an eagle-eyed features editor to work for our award-winning magazine.

Pulse is looking for an eagle-eyed features editor to work for our award-winning magazine.

Ideally with experience of commissioning and/or writing for a trade magazine, the successful candidate will be responsible for crafting compelling features for our audience of GPs.

The job involves developing formats, building relationships with authors, editing content and working with designers to produce articles that leap from the page.

You will need to be good with people and have great creative skills. You should be comfortable with one day interviewing a GP about their practice and writing it up and the next working with an expert to produce in-depth articles on personal finance or legal issues

The ideal candidate will have journalist training and be comfortable working across online and in print.

Reporting to the deputy editor, the features editor will be asked to:

•             Commission and edit feature articles for print and online

•             Interview case-studies and write compelling copy about them

•             Write detailed Q&As about business and finance related topics

•             Research and commission features by and for GPs

•             Produce snappy online articles using the CMS

•             Manage their editorial budget effectively

Ideal applicants will be able to demonstrate experience of:

•             Commissioning, editing or writing features for a trade magazine

•             An interest in the NHS or health (but no need to be an expert)
