Pulse wins two industry awards

Pulse has picked up two prizes at the prestigious Medical Journalists’ Association awards.

Alex Matthews-King was awarded the Story of the Year prize for his exclusive about CCGs raiding next year’s winter reserves to maintain urgent care before the election, which was mentioned in Prime Minister’s Questions.

This is the third award for Alex’s reporting since he joined Pulse in November 2013, he also won the Story of the Year prize at the MJAs last year and picked up the Scoop of the Year gong at the British Society of Magazine Editors awards in November.

The Pulse Toolkit smartphone app was named Digital innovation of the Year at the awards. The app is free to download onto both Apple and Android devices and offers a range of tools for GPs to assist them with patient consultations. Click here to find out more.

Pulse was also nominated for Editor of the Year and Young Journalist of the Year at the awards held in BMA House in central London yesterday.
