Advanced access myth

As manager of a practice using advanced access I was frustrated to see a persistent misconception perpetuated by 'TV Doc' Dr Hilary Jones (News, October 13). This system does not prevent patients from prebooking appointments to fit in with their lifestyle ­ his surgery is clearly not offering advanced access.

A friend complained her surgery now only offers 'on the day' appointments because of the new contract.With so much misinformation being given out, what chance does Joe Public have of ever getting the right messages.
