Allowing advanced booking pushes your DNA rates up

Re-your news report headlined 'GPs stop advance bookings to achieve

48-hour access' (July 7), in my experience if you allow patients to book too far in advance your DNA rates will go up.

I have been able to prove this by simply auditing capacity and demand in my practice and trying to match both.

I am getting near to the 48-hour access. This is called advance access, and believe me it works.
