BMA builds picture of PMS GPs' lives

The BMA is to ask PMS GPs in England how satisfied they are with pay, working conditions and staff in a bid to build a better picture of their working lives.

The survey could uncover big variations in pay and funding. The BMA, which is lobbying for the right to represent PMS GPs, wants to use it for its drive on PMS development.

Meanwhile, PMS GPs are still waiting for details from the Department of Health on how their return ticket to GMS will work under the new contract and how they will be able to tap into their share of the preparation cash set aside for the quality and outcomes framework. The department said it would release the information 'shortly'.
