Boycott in disarray as Bury goes ahead with early adopter scheme

A meeting this week of Rochdale and Bury LMC – another of the early adopter areas for the Summary Care Record – decided not to oppose the programme.

Dr Mohammed Jiva, Rochdale and Bury LMC secretary, said the LMC had interpreted the motion at the BMA annual representative meeting not to co-operate with the storage of 'all' medical records as referring to detailed care records.'

We still have concerns around the security of the system as it is, but we're happy to go ahead with the early adopter pilot as long as it's the summary of the records, not all the medical records.'
