Bye BMA hello Equity

From Dr TE Kenny

St Helens, Merseyside

Am I alone in taking offence at the reclassification of my status of 'medical practitioner' to that of 'medical performer'?

Does this mean I have to acquire new skills, such as juggling or tightrope walking? Maybe I could take up lion taming? Perhaps I should quit from the BMA and join Equity.

It seems that the status of 'practitioner' has been redistributed and is now conferred on the 'nurse practitioner' and the 'physiotherapy practitioner'.

What have we allowed to become of our noble profession?
