CBE 'astonishes' Haslam

Professor David Haslam has been awarded a CBE in the Queen's birthday honours list.

Professor Haslam, chair of the RCGP council and a GP in Ramsey, Cambridgeshire, was 'astonished and delighted'.

He said he hoped the award, which was for services to health care, recognised his work at the RCGP in particular.

'Over the past few years it has been a much more outgoing organisation, meeting regularly with ministers and the Department of Health, trying to promote the GP agenda,' he added.
