'Charlatan' amazed at MMR intolerance

Speaking as one of the 'charlatans' to whom Dr Guru Singh refers in his ill-balanced letter (January 12), I am amazed at the lack of clinical insight and intolerance from some of my colleagues towards the MMR issue.

The main point to be made is that there is considerable lack of public confidence in MMR and there is a significant body of evidence that justifies this. Administration of single vaccines gives patients the choice as well as the opportunity to be vaccinated safely where the only perceived alternative is to avoid vaccination. As for disciplinary measures from the GMC whatever next?

Maybe we should be birched for all these prescription errors we are apparently making.
