Choose and Book 'failures' down to GPs

Again we have a headline that misrepresents the truth - 'Choose and Book "failing to offer patients choice"'.

It is not Choose and Book that fails to offer choice but the GP doing the referral. The Choose and Book application allows for choice to be offered and has always done so within the old commissioning rules and now the Free Choice policy.

The headline and comments from Dr Potts have failed to understand this distinction.

From Dr Graham Croker, primary care clinical lead for Choose and Book
