Contract help sought

A helpline to answer GPs' and NHS managers' queries about the new GMS contract and developments to PMS is taking 500 calls a week.

The National Primary Care Development Team said it expected the number of calls to grow in the next few weeks following the distribution of practices' indicative global sums.

The most popular topics have included which services are essential, additional or enhanced, and whether practices should become an NHS body or have a private law contract.
