CSM stands by mumps vaccine ban
The Government's Committee on Safety of Medicines has advised that the controversial ban on the import of the un-
licensed single mumps vaccine Pavivac should remain.
The import of the vaccine from the Czech Republic was suspended by the Medicines Control Agency in October last year. A statement from the Department of Health following a CSM meeting last week said the committee's key concern was over the use of dog kidney cells in the manufacture of Pavivac.
