Darzi and Donaldson fair badly on doctor ratings site

Blogger The Ferret Fancier has alerted us to a website allowing patients to rate doctors' performance.

Blogger The Ferret Fancier has alerted us to a website allowing patients to rate doctors' performance.

Nothing too unusual in the site, rateMDs.com, itself.

The web is awash with sites (tripadvisor, amazon, ratemyteacher.co.uk) allowing the general public to rate service providers of all types, so it was only a matter of time before doctors faced the same.

This isn't an official NHS or Government-affiliated place, just set up by a company looking to make a bit of cash by the looks of it. And there's not a lot of checking of the entries by the looks of some of them.

Among the relatively few doctors to have ratings so far are Lord Darzi, Sir Liam Donaldson and Dame Carol Black.

Of Dame Carol Black, it is witheringly said: 'Difficult to think of a doctor better placed to do good who has done as much harm. Apart from the CMO.'

That would be Sir Liam then. 'Singularly inept' and 'architect of the most damaging reforms of medical education, ever.' are two of his choice descriptions.

Then there's Lord Darzi. 'A great surgeon,' one of the four reviews starts. 'He has found the part of the NHS which actually works, and he is removing it.'

Looks like a few GPs have already found the site. Maybe you'd like to add your view. And keep an eye out for any similarly subversive comments about you.
