Darzi centre advertised on city buses

By Ian Quinn

A PCT is plugging its newly opened £2m GP-led health centre by splashing out on a poster campaign on city buses.

The advertising drive by NHS Norfolk will also include advertising on petrol pumps and leafleting of patients in A&E units.

NHS Norfolk insists it does not favour one GP surgery over another, but wants to alert patients to all alternatives, such as NHS Direct and pharmacists.

The 'public engagement' campaign has cost £26,000 but the amount spent on A&E treatment of patients with only minor conditions is about £1m a year, said an NHS Norfolk spokesperson.
