Darzi centres can be viable if marketed well

I read your recent article on Darzi centres with interest (‘Contract winners cast doubt over Darzi centre viability').

I thought you would be interested to contrast these findings with the experience of Luton, where we have opened three new Darzi practices in the past six months. I am pleased to say that each of the practices is on track to achieve its targeted list size. The first of the practices opened on 1 February and has a current list size of 427.

Perhaps the most important point about such practices is to ensure they are aligned to their local objectives and priority groups and that they recognise the importance of marketing their services.
