Depression quality pay demand

The NHS Confederation is to push for depression to be added to the quality and outcomes framework.

Mike Farrar, chair of the confederation's negotiating team, told the National Association of Primary Care conference last week it was his 'passion to get depressive illness in the quality framework'.

Mr Farrar said he had urged its inclusion in the original framework but experts had

argued it was too difficult 'to pin down the sort of interventions' that could improve outcome.
