At the heart of general practice since 1960

Deprived areas more deprived

My practice is in one of the most deprived areas in Europe. I have worked in the NHS since 1978 and been a partner in general practice since1986.

I do not know how much I will be getting with the new seniority payment. My list size is 1,979, but my weighted list size is only 1,867. I do not think there is enough weightage for deprivation in the Carr-Hill rating.

For GPs in deprived areas it will be more difficult to achieve quality indicators. And with the new contract, no GPs, nurses or staff will want to work in deprived areas.
