DoH advisers call on GPs to perform terminations

The Healthcare Commission is to include GPs in its survey of NHS staff for the first time.

GPs and their staff across six PCTs will fill in separate questionnaires for the 2004 survey.

The PCTs' involvement is on a pilot basis this year, with plans to roll it out to all practices once the commission has 'tested the methodology', a spokeswoman for the commission said.

Among the questions expected are how GPs believe new out-of-hours arrangements are working and whether they have impacted on their daytime work.
